Macair has a burgeoning order book and continues to experience extremely healthy interest from existing customers along with new opportunities – and we now have a need to further expand our growing team for the 2nd time in 2021!
In line with our expansion plans we are now looking to recruit additional Multi-Skilled HVAC Engineers to work across our client sites and provide reactive and proactive maintenance services (PPM).
Engineer Job Purpose
Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults (services and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration and air handling units)
Diagnosing and repairing breakdown problems, fault finding and repair work
Responding to callouts and cover emergencies as required
Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities
Perform routine maintenance and preventative repairs on existing systems, commercial / domestic gas maintenance, service and repair work
Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work in liaison with other departments as required providing support and assistance at all times
Consider cost implications when carrying out designated tasks to minimise wasted time, materials and costs
Adhere to the duties required for the role within the Health and Safety policy
Skills and Qualifications
Desirable – Engineering Degree, City and Guilds Engineering Qualification
Essential
Apprenticeship and/or Previous Work Experience on commercial and domestic gas/vented, unvented systems / AC refrigeration / solar / Ground source & air source heat pumps with a high standard of problem-solving experience
Electrical installation, inspection and testing
Knowledge of a wide range of manufactures equipment for installation, maintenance and fault finding
Knowledge of Chilled water and 4-pipe fan coil systems
Knowledge of basic Building management systems and their operations
Requirements
Proven working experience as a multi-skilled HVAC Engineer
Industry recognised Data installation qualification
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
Knowledge of lone working requirements
Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to liaise with a diverse audience
Ability to work independently and use your own initiative to complete your workload
Root-cause analysis & decision-making ability
Current engineer license
Good standard of Health & safety knowledge and application
Full Clean UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2-years and with a maximum of 6 penalty points
Salary & benefits
Working hours: 8:00 am – 4.30 pm, Mon-Fri
Salary of £38k – £43k + Overtime, dependent upon qualifications & experience

In line with our expansion plans we are now looking to recruit additional fully qualified Fabric engineers to work on a static site in London to provide general maintenance and repairs.
Fabric Engineer Job Role
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Contract Manager to include but not limited to hanging doors, new locks, assembling furniture, painting and decorating, tiling and carpeting floors, basic electrical works, emergency lighting testing and basic lamping.
Undertaking PPM works issued through the help desk within set time frames so that customer expectations are met.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
Previous experience of working in a commercial environment.
Competent working knowledge of all aspects associated with building fabric and systems, i.e. joinery, painting, small building works.
Building services maintenance, i.e. plumbing and drainage.
Supporting mechanical and electrical tradesmen.
Excellent customer service.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential – NVQ Level 2
Blue CSCS Card
2 + years’ experience
Requirements
Proven working experience as a Fabric engineer.
Ideally candidates for the Fabric engineer role will have basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
Preferably have experience working in a customer facing environment.
Be well presented and have good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and use own initiative to complete tasks.
Own tools and PPE.
Good standard of Health and Safety knowledge and application.
Plumbing – repairing leaks.
Changing flushes.
Changing urinals, unblocking toilets, carpentry, changing locks, hanging doors, and hinges, painting and decorating, electrics, changing plugs, switches, bulbs and sockets. Assisting on-site electrical and mechanical engineers.
Full clean UK driving licence held for minimum of 2-years and with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
Salary and Benefits
Working hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
Salary of £30,000.00 + potential overtime, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
25-days annual leave.

Gas Engineer Job Purpose
Performing various aspects of Boiler services and maintenance
Working with heating in domestic properties
Diagnosing and repairing breakdown problems, fault finding and repair work (Gas escapes, testing and purging, water quality tests, fumes investigations, etc.)
Ensuring all areas are adequately protected prior to commencement of works and providing Gas safety certificates
Responding to callouts and cover emergencies as required
Carrying out gas inspections, installs and repairs
Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities
Perform routine maintenance and preventative repairs on existing systems, commercial / domestic gas maintenance, service and repair work
Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work in liaison with other departments as required providing support and assistance at all times
Adhere to the duties required for the role within the Health and Safety policy
Skills and Qualifications

Able to undertake gas safety inspections/testing in accordance with current regulations
Current engineer license
