Air conditioning has in the past received some ‘bad-press’ for its alleged contribution to the distribution of air-born bacteria and viruses – a claim that has no real grounds so long as the air conditioning installation is well maintained and kept clean.

The service offers a 3-step method of cleaning…
- Remove filter and thoroughly clean by either washing or vacuuming.
- Spray the filter with a very mild solution of diluted sodium hypochlorite (a chlorine based bleaching agent).
- Spray the face of the heat exchanger with the same diluted solution of hypochlorite allowing it to run into the condensate tray and drain.
This process kills the germs that may thrive on the surface of the filter and the heat exchanger – the two components of the air conditioning system over which the air passes. The process may leave a smell in the air similar to that of a swimming pool, but this will clear in a few hours.
The cost to undertake this sanitising procedure will be around £25.00 per fan coil, subject to access.
