Tomorrow we are celebrating the World Engineering Day!
Started in 1964, the purpose is to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make. It is also a time for engineers to emphasise the importance of learning math, science, and technical skills.
At Macair, we pride ourselves in combining science and math to solve the technical problems in a united front of collaboration, teamwork, and support. Engineers figure out how things work and find practical uses for scientific discoveries, being instrumental in making those innovations available to the world and setting the roadmap for practice.
As physicist Freeman Dyson wrote in his book ‘’Disturbing the Universe’’, “A good scientist is a person with original ideas. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible. There are no prima donnas in engineering.”
UNESCO is placing a high priority on activities that promote awareness of engineering as a career, as well as on those that demonstrate the importance of youth studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
